Corky and Marcella Detroit singing together

Marcy Levy AKA Marcella Detroit, grew up in Detroit, and first saw many popular Blues artists like Corky Siegel's Siegel-Schwall Band back in the 1970's. In 2004, the Chicago Blues Festival invited the Chicago Blues Reunion, a collaboration of all-stars, that included Blues harp legend Corky Siegel and vocal diva Marcy Levy on the bill. Together they electrified the capacity crowd and stole the show with a chemistry of captivating showmanship and set the stage ablaze with their pyrotechnics on vocals and harmonica.

Marcy Levy (aka Marcella Detroit) got her first big break singing with Bob Seger.  She went on to sing and tour with Leon Russell, and Eric Clapton, and cowrote one of his biggest hits, "Lay Down Sally".  Subsequently, Marcy formed the duo Shakespear's Sister who had the hit "Stay" which was number one for eight weeks on the UK charts.  It also went Gold here in the US, selling over 500 thousand copies.

When Marcella joined Siegel-Schwall at the main stage of the Chicago Blues Festival, every time Marcy put the microphone down, the audience stood up.

With Marcy's vast well of talent, she has the chops to soar to any heights that Corky and Chamber Blues wish to go. As the South Bend Tribune remarked: "Cry to Me" showed off Levy's wow-inducing control of her voice, which imbued the song with breathtaking emotion and had the power and range of a gospel singer's voice overtaken by the Spirit. Her spellbinding vocals on "My Funny Valentine"  combined anguish and devotion. Everything after, and this was only the fourth song of the night, received an encore."
