The very first Chamber Blues album includes Opus 12 (Filisko’s Dream) which won a national award for composition as well as the custom composed Unfinished Jump written for Alligator Records. Recommended. This is a historical look at The Siegel-Schwall Band’s first recording right out offers exposure to the blues and right out their residency with the blues masters at Pepper’s in 1965. Purchase a signed/dated CD to have and to hold

“Siegel-Schwall 70” on Vanguard Records.  Live at the historic Quiet Knight music venue in Chicago with Rollo Radford (bass) & Shelly Plotkin (drums).

Recommended - a new phase with Rollo Radford and Shelly Plotkin - All the RCA/Wooden Nickel albums are also highly recommended

“The Siegel-Schwall Band” (1971) First album on RCA/Wooden Nickel Records.  Includes; “I Think it Was the Wine,” “Corrina,” a most popular classic album.

Reunion Concert (1987) Siegel-Schwall’s live album on Alligator Records with Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, Sam Lay, honoring WXRT Radio in Chicago.

Recommended. This is the first recording with Sam Lay and the first performance by Siegel-Schwall in 14 years. It was taped for a WXRT “Unconcert” at the Vic Theater in Chicago. It includes Sam lay‘s favorite version of “Got my Mojo Working”

Flash Forward (2005) on Alligator Records.  This includes a number of songs by Sam Lay (who had never written before).  Siegel-Schwall’s last album.

This historically significant album is the last recording of Siegel-Schwall. More importantly, it features Sam Lay and 4 of his songs - one where he plays guitar.

It was Seiji Ozawa with William Russo’s help that started my whole world of juxtaposing blues and classical. Deutsche Grammophon calls these pieces “An American Classic.”
